Ascent Trip ReportDrove up early from Durango and started out on the trail west of the pass. Was passed, and then followed, three locals up the backside (unbelievable green hued rock glacier) transversing East onto the NE ridge and up. Came down and kept going East and South off the mountain to the cliffs and down a single track MTB trail to Durango Ski Resort. Came right up on an Elk during the descent. Do not recommend this descent route - lots of scree skiing and exposure to the base. |
