Ascent Trip ReportI climbed Oswald Dome via the Oswald Dome Trail. The trails starts at the Quinn Springs Recreation Area next to the Hiwassee River (el. ~ 800 feet) and goes to the top of the mountain. The trail is approximately 4 miles long (8 miles round trip.) and is moderate to strenuous. The trail is well maintained. There are no views on this this climb.
While you are in the area the consider floating the Hiwassee River. It can be floated in inner tubes, etc. There is one class III Rapid the rest are class II. There are several rental places for inner tubes, and kayaks about two miles above the trail head.
