Ascent Trip ReportDay 1: Late start, i was hoping to make it to Ireland Lake to camp, but i only got as far as the point where the trail swings away from Ireland Creek. I made a nice bivy site behind the 30' split boulder that's obvious from the trail.
Day 2: Summit and back. Up the loose talus of the SE slopes. I pulled a large block down, but jumped out of the way before i got squashed. On top i could not find a cairn or register so i left a cairn where Andrew's Peakbagger app indicated the county lines intersected. I tried to return to the S saddle via the more stable W slopes, but got cliffed out at the end. So i went up and over the peak and back down the S slope. I saw two huge deer by Ireland Lake on the descent.
Day 3: Out to Tuolumne.
There wasn't a cairn at the HP so i built one where the Peakbagger app indicated the county line merging with Tuolumne Co (2016-08-12). Photo by Dick Ellsworth.
