Ascent Trip Report

It is a long drive to the trail head. It took three hours of driving from HB to the TH. We parked along the road just before the road started a long descent, then hiked along the ridge to start. There is no trail, not even a use trail, so the hiking was all cross-country through knee-high grass, over a lot of dead fall, on a lot of bark and soft ground. It was slow going as a result. We spied the tallest peak in the area, which turned out to be Alamo. The register is in a rock pile atop the peak. We went too far west on the return and had to hike back about 3/4 mile on the road to the car. As a result, I wasn't able to pick up the trail tape I left on the ascent. Maybe some kind soul will remove it--thank you.
