Ascent Trip Report

A little more scenic hike than Green Mountain, with some nice pine and oak at the top of the hike along the zorro trail. Collected some gamble oak leaves for my tree plates at home. The views are a little more interesting on the hogback ridge of this hike than Green Mountain and the trail far less used and narrow. I was moving too fast to look for dinosaur tracks. I was up in 15 minutes and down in 10 and then back to the car. My total hiking time between Green and Dinosaur was about 85 minutes. I used the "trogging" technique (trek up and jog down). Traffic back to Denver was twice as long but still made it back by 7:40 to shower and dress and meet my colleagues for breakfast and out the door to walk to the office by 8:00 AM. Denver residents are blessed with outdoor opportunities all around them!
