Ascent Trip Report

Short easy loop hike.

My son-in-law, Tim, grandson Michael and I drove North on the Gatineau Parkway from the Park's Southern Entrance at Blvd Alexandre-Tache (0.0.km). Turned left (abt 11 km) and still travelling North on Champlain Parkway to the signed Mont King parking on the left (abt 17 km).
The beautifull winding/rolling Parkway is very popular with cyclists, Sundays they close the Parway to motor traffic.

The trail descends to Lac Black and a trail juction .... either trail loops around the summit and will bring you back to this junction ..... the right trail starts an immediate ascent, whereas the left trail drops before starting its ascent. We ascended right, anti-clockwise, a short climb, great vistas at a number of lookouts of the Ottawa valley. The triangular monument is East-of and below the actual summit ...... a short bushwack.
