Ascent Trip Report

I started from the north end of the parkway overlook on the south side of the peak. A trail leads into the woods here, and appears at first to follow the route of a trail shown on the USGS topo, but it fades in about the area where it appears on the topo to turn from trending NE to NW. At this point I simply bushwhacked more or less straight up to the top, avoiding the typical hazards such as downed trees and patches of berry canes. There is a distinct summit. I tried to bushwhack down the west side to the road, but ended up above a steep road cut, so then I traversed back around to the south side and came out on the north end of the overlook. It would have been simpler to just follow my original route back down, but it all worked out. There are some small dropoffs in places, so use caution if you decide to bushwhack up.
