Ascent Trip Report

From the north, the north ridge looked steep and challenging, but it really wasn't bad at all. There were a few opportunities for easy class 3, but all had class 2 bypasses for any who hadn't had enough class 2 throughout the day to that point.

Our route down was great and easy, hitting the road about 9,200. Alas, the ride was shuttling faster hikers down to our camp, so the couple people with me ended up walking down the road a bit until it came back up for us.

There is a significant stream crossing (Berry Creek), that limits which vehicles can get to that section of the road. If one can't drive across it, the hike down (or up) South Schell Peak is significantly longer.
