Ascent Trip ReportMy first true Ocean to Summit hike. Started off from the mall parking area behind the Sheraton Waikiki. Crossed the hotel to dip my feet in the water, then put on shoes and took Kalakua Ave SE until Monsarrat Ave. This road becomes Diamond Head Rd and I followed the signs for the Fort Ruger Trail and into the state park. My times are slightly distorted based on the 2.5 mile hike to the trailhead. Otherwise, trail itself is 1.5 miles roundtrip. The drizzle on the way up led to an awesome rainbow from the top. |
