Ascent Trip Report

Ken and I left my home around 7:20am and got to the Trailhead of South Climb route after stopping by Ranger Station around 10:30am. We hiked in around 11am on the 3rd of July. We had no problem finding out our own route and reached to Lunch Counter(camp site) around 3:30pm. Set up tent, ate snack and walking around to see where we start climbing next morning either on the ridge at right hand side, snow field or on top of gully. It was very windy night (30mph) and I woke up multiple times due to the noise of the winds. We had a plan to late start (because the ground was icy in the AM), so we were relaxed and left our tent around 9am and reached to the summit at 12:15 including early lunch at Piker's Peak (false summit). We could see Mt Rainier from the summit. We came back to the tent site safely. We ate some snacks, wrapped up the tent, hiked out to the parking lot. Reached to our car around 5:15pm. It was great days to hike even when 30mph winds, it's very clear days. Submitted on 4th of July.
