Ascent Trip ReportI approached the peak from the Bald Mountain Mine road south of Jiggs, Nv.
I followed this good road for 27 miles and turned left at the signed Hastings Cutoff also signed 57390 which merges with Overland Pass Road, drove about 5 miles and turned right onto an unsigned faint road. After 2.8 miles, I took a left at a fork--this stretch is heavily grown over--and drove 3.3 miles and turned right for a final 0.5 mile ascent to an open ridge.
From here the hike is an open country scramble through low sage and bitter brush to the comm towers on the summit.
The register is in the summit cairn enclosed in a glass jar.
Lots of new pine cones on the pinion trees just before the turnoff to the final ridge.
Excellent views of the mine works from the top.
