Ascent Trip Report

Used the south pocket route as described by others. Parked as grass turnout at 5:30 AM. Was at the peak at 7:45 AM. Started back down at 8:15 AM and was at the vehicle at 10 AM. Saw no one other than some cows and a jackrabbit that led me on the path for about a mile. I did have to cross 3 posted "No Trespassing" signs on gates. I assume I was probably on private property the whole time. The road was incredibly well graded all of the way to the peak. Just by reading the reports and looking on Google Earth it was easy not to get lost. I think a strong mountain biker would have a pretty good ride to the top if they weren't afraid of attracting too much attention. The "No Trespassing" sign on the gate at Mines road at the start looked pretty new so maybe they are cracking down a little, but like I said, I saw no one. By the way this was my hike specifically to get a peak/county high point.
