Ascent Trip Reportascended signal peak from fordyce lake road. originally had planned to drive further and bag old man mountain, but my car (audi allroad) couldn't really make it much further than where i parked for signal. after summiting signal i had the not so bright idea of continuing past signal down the ridge to fordyce lake road, and try to bag old man anyhow... this ended up being a lot of distance, and i bailed on the plan much too late, when i discovered that fordyce creek was flowing pretty strongly.
note that there is a jeep road going across the ridge between signal peak and fordyce summit: if you can get your vehicle up to fordyce summit you could probably drive the whole way up to signal peak. or if you hiked from fordyce summit it'd be 1.6mi 700' one-way.
track is only the trip up to signal peak. you should probably ignore my descent statistics as they contain the rest of the hike with failed attempt on old man.
