Ascent Trip ReportParked in the south wash after missing the turn off for the 4x4 trailhead in the dark the night before, GPS said we started at 4,700 feet of elevation. Climbed via Union Wash with Lauren. 5am start, 5pm return to the car. Went to the east side of the ridge near the summit and encountered some Class III, returned on the west side and managed to get stuck in some very loose nasty scree for an hour before finding the route again (protip, the route is way further down the west side than you would think). Perfect weather all day, and excellent scree skiing on the way down...it took 45 minutes to descend what had taken 3 hours to ascend. Someone had placed a new register box in late April, we were the 3rd party to sign the register since then.
