Ascent Trip Report

From Winston Saddle, the trail splits around Peak 6903. To the right the PCT, to the left, a use trail. This less travelled use trail is the one we took. Traversing left around the base of this small peak we meet another saddle with a clearly defined use trail which leads upward to Winston ridge. There's a number of granite points along this ridge, with the first on you can see being Point 6850. You can bypass this for now, instead of scrambling up to grab it, it's easier to walk down to it from the top of Winston ridge later. Continue up for another half mile to the top of Winston ridge. Once on the plateau, there's a number of small boulder piles, there's a register at one of the first piles. Today it was marked with a cairn on top. This is a good place to stop for lunch. To the north east, Pleasant View Ridge, and Will Thrall Peak can be seen across Cooper Canyon.
