Ascent of Copper Butte on 2016-05-31
|Date:||Tuesday, May 31, 2016|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||7140 ft / 2176 m|
Ascent Trip ReportWe followed the driving and hiking directions in the NW Wildflower hiking book. Longer trail miles than the approach from the east, but convenient to our plans to head into Canada from the Curlew direction. Trail remarkably well-maintained, the burn area is coming back, and the meadows on the south approach to the saddle are just coming on. Should be perfect in a couple of weeks. Heading up to the peak from the saddle, we encountered a few snow patches, nothing difficult. Lots of interesting artifacts at the summit. Fun day!
