Ascent Trip Report Hillyer was a memorial hike for Zobeida Arauz who passed away recently. Zobeida was an amazing HPS hiker, having completed the HPS list 8X, the most for any woman in HPS. She was also amazing person to know. We will miss her. About 60-70 folks were on the hike including some of her family members. We did the standard Rt. 1. After the hike we got together for a potluck at Bandido Campground.
After the potluck, I continued north on Highway 2 for about 2 miles, parking at t turnout that had a pit toilet. From there I hiked due north about 0.3 miles to the summit of 6629. After that, I came back to the PCT. I hiked east to Camp Glenwood, then followed a use trail to the summit of 6350. I saw a number of PCT through hikers resting at Camp Glenwood. I returned via the PCT to the car.
