Ascent Trip ReportAscended from snowbowl. Left the snowbowl at 8AM, back at the car at 3PM. Went with some friends that were a bit slower and not in amazing shape, but this is definitely a hike that is doable for most people who can run a 5K. Total ascent is about 3300' over 4.8 miles; 4.4 miles if the snowbowl area is open for parking.
Ascent is fairly moderate over a series of switchbacks, with one false summit from the saddle onward. The saddle trail is on the northwestern side of the ridge, which can be in your favor or not depending on which way the wind is blowing.
As it is a common peak, very accurate weather of the summit is provided with a google search: not even needing to follow any links, but for a change, weather can be found just via google.
Microspikes or some form of traction was not necessary, but was beneficial and can be rented from any of the in-town stores for $6-$10. During a usual year, I would not anticipate snow on-trail beyond May, but there's hardly a "normal" year anymore so check with the local outfitters for trail information.
