Ascent Trip Report

There is a good trail to the Marshall South ruins, then it's cross-country to the peak. Making one's way to the summit is fairly simple, as there is a lot of open area through which to hike. Some boulder hopping, but not much. We didn't encounter a lot of Cholla en route, although one of those Cholla balls "jumped" onto my pants and leg. There are several bumps over which to cross before the highest one, which is the summit. I don't normally look for registers, but Frank found it atop the class 3 boulder, so sign it I did. It was a little warm--don't think I would want to do this hike past this time of the year. Nice easy hike in the beautiful desert.
