Ascent Trip Reportsonoma land trust + wildlands conservancy guided hike from jenner headlands to pole mountain. this trail will open to the general public after they complete construction of a parking lot at the trailhead, they're estimating early 2017. do not do this hike without permission prior to public opening. they run guided hikes regularly, see the sonoma land trust website for more details.
we unfortunately had a foggy day, so no views were to be had. however the summit is wide open and must feature awesome views if you get the right weather. about half of the hike is under tree cover, the other half is open fields. the trail is mostly a sequence of forest/fire roads that have been joined with a few new connections. the water crossing on the east branch of russian gulch was easy (and you could filter water here for drinking if you desire).
