Ascent of Denny Mountain on 2016-05-05
|Date:||Thursday, May 5, 2016|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||5520 ft / 1682 m|
Ascent Trip ReportDecided to get some skiing in before the end of the season and bag a peak at the same time.
From the parking lot we skinned up following the Armstrong Express chair lift then the Edelweiss Bowl to a saddle between the summit and a chair lift.
We then followed the ridge up, traversed climbers left into a gulley that has a cable handline.
We scrambled up about 15 feet in the gulley with ski boots until we reached snow again and then the summit.
There is a weather monitoring antenna at the summit. We did not get any views since we were in the clouds.
We skied down Upper International and Lower International. There was only one spot near the top of Upper international that we had to boot across snow less terrain.
