Ascent Trip Report

Parked in public park near ball-fields. Was early in the morning so I was not sure where the TH was so I ran down and touch the ball field as my starting TH cuz it looked like the lowest ground nearby. Then I went up slope and found the TH. It is easier to hike along the lake and then start to gain on the backside but I liked the trails that go around the reservoir (lake Poway) because they give alternating views of the lake at different elevations. Although there is a lot of additional gain with the hilly terrain this way, I enjoyed this trail selection. All trails eventually merge on the backside of the lake. That is where the real gain begins.
