Ascent Trip Report

Left Syracuse at 1:50 PM and arrived at the Alder Lake parking area at 4:30 PM. Took the trail on the Southern side of Alder Lake and then the Mill Brook Ridge trail. After about 1/2 mile on the MBR trail I began a bushwhack on a South bearing and eventually got to the summit at 5:45 PM. The woods were fairly open most of the way and there were a few runoff streams to follow. The summit had no views and was also open. I returned to the MBR trail on a North and slightly East bearing so I could intersect the trail closer to the lean-to. I got back to the MBR trail at 6:20 PM and hiked on to the lean-to, arriving at 6:40 PM.

I saw a Bald Eagle in flight on the ride down and a beaver on the hike.
