Ascent Trip Report

Boone Fork Trail encircles Pigpen Knob in a 5-mile loop. I started at the Julian Price Park picnic area and hiked counterclockwise. The trip stats are calculated from the lowest point on the loop, at the fork of Boone Fork and Bee Tree Creek (which is actually about 2 miles into the hike). This is a fun hike, fairly rugged, with about a dozen stream crossings and several ladders. It would have been simple enough to bag the peak, but it's unranked, it's in a thicket, and I've been there before. So this time, I bypassed it.
