Ascent Trip ReportWe approached from the east, and some of the roads we took were a little rough (high-clearance probably necessary), but we left via the road to Elgin which definitely required high-clearance, and possibly 4WD for some of the steeper sections, but was well worth the tougher drive with incredible views.
The road hike was decent (easily driveable with high-clearance), and the lookout tower was the type with the walkway on the outside, allowing access even when the observation booth was closed. The high point was on the rocks just south of the tower.
