Ascent Trip Report

Parked on Brye Road, NW of the western candidate high point. Walked up open wooded ridge in a SE direction to the first high point. Measured 970ft elevation on my I pad (Gaia APP). Headed east to the 2nd candidate high point. Measured 953 ft at this point. Returned in a direct path to the vehicle from this 2nd candidate high point. Total distance covered 1.58 miles in 49 minutes. We also walked over the middle high point but that only registered 938 ft and was clearly lower than the 2nd nearby high point.

The wind turbines in the area are creepy. The air was still yet the closest turbines were slowly turning, and emanating a strange “war of the worlds like” sound. It appears that several turbines are in a powered state and kept turning at a very slow rate when it is still. I have seen this elsewhere but don’t know why. It would be eerie hearing this at night if you were camping nearby.
