Ascent Trip Report

Climbed with Eric Lee. We parked just before the end of the road, where a substantial dip stopped our car. The first couple hundred feet of bushwhacking are nasty, and there are occasional difficult parts, but mostly this was a fun ridge walk with just a little dose of scrambling, which transitioned into a very pleasant snow walk. The one big issue for me was that I lost my sunglasses at the very beginning of the climb, so I was battling the bright sun reflecting off the snow all through the upper portion. I used a balaclava to keep it out of my eyes, and raced from shade to shade, even walking a couple easy stretches with my eyes closed. The views from the top were, as advertised, some of the best in the Cascades. This mountain shouldn't be underestimated - it has a lot of climbing, a fair amount of 'schwacking, and a couple scramble moments, but the payoff in views is well worth it.
