Ascent Trip ReportThe gate on Road 4000 was closed, and I wouldn't have driven through it even if it had been open. The road definitely doesn't match the topos, but it was relatively direct, and I would even go so far as to say we took the best route from the spot we did (can't speak to other access points, though). It was a beautiful sunny day, with great views of the big southern Washington volcanoes, as well as the Olympics. The short 'schwacking section had only a couple nasty tangles and was mostly pretty relaxed forest walking.
