Ascent Trip ReportAfter Brasstown and Sassafras I headed to Mt Mitchell State Park but could not get there because the BRP was closed on the west for construction and on the east for snow. Drove to Cherokee and checked out Mingo Falls. Still had plenty of daylight left so I headed toward Clingmans. There was lots of snow and ice on the side of Clingmans Access Rd but the road was clear. Lots of people were making the trip up. The ramp to the tower was completely iced over but was not too hard to climb. I was on the top by myself for several minutes. Headed down and drove back to Cherokee to spend the night.
