Ascent Trip Report

Nice hike on great trails--Dripping Springs to the Palomar Ridge Road--but the bushwhack to the peak is very challenging. The trail has not been clipped recently and is very overgrown with dense bushes. My arms were scratched, bloodied, and bruised on the short climb to the boulders. I touched the boulders, then got the hell out of there. I had had enough, so I didn't bother with the benchmark or register. We spent quite a bit of time looking for a way up, then decided to go for it--pushed through and crawled under the bushes. It was an 18 miler for us with about 3,500' of gain. We climbed up some ridges and a couple of bumps to see if we could see a way up the peak. Hope some kind soul will do some clipping!
