Ascent Trip ReportAfter exiting the Aussie couloir, on the last summit ridge section, just ~10m below the summit a huge cornice collapsed down the north face, the fracture line being no more than a couple of meters away from us. The snow was getting super warm and almost slashy despite cold-weather forecast (that's why we were there), so we decided to turn back, just to be caught in a small wet-snow avalanche in the couloir - we were roped and protected with snow pickets, so it didn't take us down, just making us scared a bit. |
