Ascent Trip ReportLeft the house at 5:35 am and arrived at the Woodland Valley trail head at 8:45 am.
The trail up Wittenberg ascends consistently and toward the top some steep stretches that involve climbing up some rocky areas. I reached the summit and after a short rest went on to Cornell, which had some icy areas, including the Cornell Crack, which was a bit challenging. I stopped only briefly on Cornell's summit because of it's limited and somewhat disappointing views and returned to Wittenberg where I had lunch.
After descending to the col, I went on to Terrace Mountain, which is the only mountain that I actually only descended to. Checked out the lean-to and the limited views on the rocky area and returned to the car.
This hike puts me at 21 of the Catskill winter peaks although this was only technically winter since it was in the mid-60's and sunny most of the day. I hiked it in a tech shirt and shorts.
