Ascent Trip ReportInteresting area. A very steep road with a fun name "Thrill Hill Road" friends of ours said have you highpointed the thrill hill area? and thought well no - why not? The road makes a very steep dip into a large sinkhole feature where we parked. To the east the City of Mount Dora owns a fenced off reservoir that I did not go trespass in but reached near the lowest contour in the basin to run up the mighty thrill hill. The road is busy but there is a lot of R/W to avoid getting hit. There are actually three candidate points that mark the top of this Lake County feature. The largest closed contour has a private home that is not gated, then there is another candidate peak actually on CR 44A. The other small candidate has a private home on it. Along the way the road meanders up and down a bit if you like hills.
Nobody was home at the residence. The hill in the road is easy. Who knows whcih is actually taller?
My wife picked me up in the car so I did not have to go all the way back to the reservoir. Thrill Hill is conquered. It was interesting I suppose for those stuck hiking in FL but I can not say I was "thrilled"
