Ascent Trip Report

The Big Bunny. This was very ably led by William and Virginia Simpson, with Virginia out front most of the day and Bill helping at a few spots. The route is pretty straight-forward: Find the beginning of the use trail when you reach the ridge just west of Rattlesnake Canyon. Then, follow the ridge all the way to Villager and then on to Rabbit. EXCEPT, it's 11 1/2 miles of use trail, which in rocky desert terrain can be exhausting. Plus, the use trail often peters out. All in all, over 8200 feet of gain, 1200 of which between Rabbit and Villager coming back. Bring a headlamp with spare batteries. You'll need it.
