Ascent Trip ReportAs far as I can determine, Turner Ward Knob is the 7th highest named highpoint in Arkansas. My son, Marshall, and I approached from the west side of the Knob. We had to travel on some rough roads to get there, but I made it in my 1991 Ford Festiva with no problems. There is a trail for the first few hundred feet, but then you need to leave the trail and bushwhack north the last few hundred feet up a steep hill. The entire distance is just a little over 1/4 mile, but it took us 20 minutes to reach the top, although we were delayed briefly as we investigated en route an interesting linear rock pile 25 yards long that was certainly man-made. Just before the summit there were some thorn bushes that had to be passed through which would be much worse during the growing season. There was no summit view due to the trees. It took us less than 15 minutes to return to the car.
