| Elevation:||1716 ft / 523 m|
Ascent Trip ReportTelegraph being probably the most accessible (and popular) hike in the Yuma area, I have hiked the standard trails on many occasions. But today was the first hike of the entire ridge, from cross hill all the way to the antenna towers (as detailed on the web in 'A Hiking Guide to Trails in the Yuma Area' by Geo Montopoli). Took 2.5 hours moving at a quick clip (almost was late picking up my son from school, had to run down the cement road). Didn't see another soul until reaching the towers. Truly a much more enjoyable hike than the standard routes (seeing my first kit fox in the wild was the cherry on top). I would rate this hike PG-13, as there were several areas of minor exposure (Class III) and quite a few chollas one had to be careful to avoid. Bring pliers and plenty of water!
