|Ascent Type:||No Summit Goal|
| Elevation:||10020 ft / 3054 m|
Ascent Trip ReportBegan trip with Guide in Idaho following Fox Creek as a backpacking trip to learn cave rapelling. With Andy Woodcock and Tom Roberts.Set up camp site one in the Fossil Mountain area before the mule pack trail along the west side of Fossil Mountain.
We climbed to the saddle ridge next to the peak since and did not summit as the trip was just to make it to the Fossil Mountain pass to set up a training site to learn to use crampons and cave rapel. We then decended into Ice Cave and came out the Wind Cave.
The night we returned to basecamp i did not change out of my wet spelunking clothes fast enough and the temperature dropped fast. It rained, hailed, and snowed. I started breaking into hyperthermia, and the guides helped me break it. Will never take forget that lesson about staying dry in cold wet conditions.
10 miles BP up and 7 miles BP down plus 7 miles of free hiking to and thru caves
