Ascent Trip Report

road and xcountry walk to 2 areas .... 2.2 miles, 1 hour RT.

I once again used Scott Surgent's TR. This county has 2 candidates.

We found our way to the N-S County Line on East Road K (35.90592,-101.62297), not signed, these are approx. coordinates ..... the 3380' contour in Moore County sticks its east side into Hutchinson County at 2 places, perhaps 50 yards max. AREA 1 is at East Road K, and AREA 2 is 3/4 mile north of East Road K.

AREA 1 (35.90512,-101.62297)
The high ground for this area is south of the road (the area to the north is lower) ... I walked to a road on the south side of East Road K, then the county line southbound (grass field), choosing my HP at 100+ yards.

AREA 2 (35.91602,-101.62297)
200 yards west of the Co Line on north side of East Road K is a small blue house and beyond that at another 200 yards is a locked gated energy road heading north, signed "Phillips 66".
We went to the house for information and found no one home, I decided to go for it while Rose would wait at the house's driveway (and deal with the consequences) ... she would have a quiet wait.
I walked the "Phillips 66" road north half a mile then went xcountry northeast another half a mile to the Area 2.

We drove west to Dumas where we took a hotel for the next 2 nights.
