Ascent Trip Report

Decided to head out of town for a conditioner hike after work. Was going to do Mount Si, but realized that I wouldn't even have time to make it to the top before it got dark and so changed plans for Little Si instead. Great trail for a quick workout!

We departed the trailhead at 18:15, and arrived at the summit in about an hour. There was still a nice view of the Snoqualmie Valley and surrounding mountains in the fading light, but the hike back was dark, dark, DARK. There are lots of slick rocks and roots to slip and trip on, so a good light source (or two) is a must after sundown. Lots of mud on the trail and some hungry 'skeeters at the top, but otherwise no problems on this trail.

Perhaps I need to get up to North Bend on Tuesday evenings more often: we did encounter a few other hikers on this trip, but the ample parking and lack of crowds was a pleasant change from most of the weekend excursions I've had in this area!
