Ascent Trip ReportLong day, some kids at the cabin gave me coffee and water (spring was frozen). I almost didnt bring the snowshoes and thought of ditching them along the trail a few times, but I am glad I brought them or I might not have made it, though I did have to take them off 3-4 times each way from the cabin to the peak. Nice bristlecone forest, few were that old though. Great views of the Sierra, Signal, and my objective for the next day Telescope Peak in Death Valley. Nobody had been to the summit in at least a month, absolutely no trace of tracks. I dug 3 different 3-4 foot deep holes in the drift where I thought the register might be, but to no avail. |
