Ascent Trip ReportFrom Highway S2, Kelley and I drove 6.8 miles in on the Carrizo Canyon road all the way to its end. The road requires a high clearance 4x because the first 4 miles or so of the road is sandy, and the last 2.8 miles is very rocky. The summit register was placed in 1982 by a DPS group, and the last ascent was in October 2012. Our descent route (the route on the north) would make a better ascent route because 2/3 of the route is up a gently sloping wash. |
