Ascent Trip Report

Arrived in the late afternoon, with the east side of the peak having a long shadow. Parked along the south side of US80 near a metal (bus-stop looking) structure. Then proceeded to hike directly at the peak. There is a dirt road just a bit further east (which we took some of it on the decent) however found the footing loose...requiring more effort than just going cross country. Obviously cross country has the occasional sharp things to look out for. As you approach the summit the east side has the best access otherwise you will have some minor class 2 rock scrambling. Benchmark was missing; found 2 reference marks although heavily damaged. found empty register can. We could see the a few border patrol vehicles as a well as a border patrol helicopter flying below us close to the "fence".
