Ascent Trip ReportI approached Ranger Peak from the south (Comanche Peak). There is a nice ridge trail which leads to the Ranger Peak Loop trail. This is a nifty trail, well defined, with some chains to help over some of the scrambles. Adding to the charm was a fairly deep new snow, unusual for El Paso! I climbed up to the tramway station, which was closed, before descending via Ranger Loop and the Thousand Steps trail back into town. |
