Ascent Trip Report

i drove in as far as i could, which wasn't very far... but it did chop off a few miles. the road needs a real 4wd high-clearance with good tires, not my "allroad" (8.2" AWD).

during my ascent i wandered around a lot and picked up whip benchmark, and then tried many approaches but shied away from most (due to ice or my skills). i'm not including the original ascent track here because it's not very useful: the line i found which worked was based on Michael Sullivan's trip report. i basically took the same path on descent so the track i'm including is a reverse of my descent. it was class 2 with essentially no class 3 other than the final summit block: and for that you should be able to find a way up which leaves it as an easy 3.

views were great!
