Ascent Trip ReportWe parked the car on north shoulder of road 49 just before the turn in to the access road, and hiked up the road to the top and back. We were pushing a running stroller with baby up and also had our dog with us. There's a picnic area across street that we didn't notice until we were hiking up that we could have parked in since it was winter months and not being used. Can't speak for the summer months. There's not a lot of room on the shoulder of the access road, so recommend hiking up and down on the outer edge of the curve for safety from cars. At the top the road does a loop around some boulders. The highest is to the south and has an NGS marker drilled into it. Easy to pick your way to it and hop on top with a stepping stone boulder to the east of the tallest one. |
