Ascent Trip ReportCastle Trail is awesome. Thick fog between treeline and ~5,000ft. Proceeded with appropriate caution for winter travel in the Presidentials. Routefinding proved to be good enogh- there were plenty of cairns. Got up above the inversion around the Cornice- the view of Adams and Edmands Col was one to remember. On the Jeff summit, I watched a river of undercast pour into the Great Gulf from the west. Laffayette and Lincoln could barely be seen poking out of the clouds in the distance. Apart from Adams, Washington, Jeff, Monroe and Franconia Ridge, it was all undercast in every direction. Definitely a sight to see. Back at the Castle TH, ran into another couple from Wyoming!
