Ascent Trip ReportFrom Taylorsville in Indian Valley I drove the Antelope Lake Rd past Genesee, turning on FSR 27N09. Fortunately, there were route markers at several critical junctions to guide me through the heavy rain over FSR 27N53, 27N10, the rough 27N57 to stark, rockbound Taylor Lake and finally to Kettle Pass and the turnoff to Kettle Rock, about 1.5 miles away. By now the rain had subsided. I drove to the broad, wooded saddle less than 1/4 mile from the abandoned Kettle Rock L.O. The Kettle B.M. is located on nearby Kettle Rock, which providesviews to Indian Valley far below. I returned by a shorter, less arduous route via FSR 27N43, 27N51. 27N10, and the Beardsley Grade to regain pavement at County Rd 214 3 miles from Taylorsville.
