Ascent Trip Report

My GPS took forever to acquire the satellite signal. I turned it on near the visitor center parking lot and it took 20+ minutes to acquire, turning on just in time to make it look like I ascended from the upper parking lot - go figure... The trail up is nice. This park is a great gem in the Atlanta area! My mom hiked with me from the visitor's center to Burnt Hickory Rd over the first 3 peaks. My dad met us at the upper parking lot and climbed the main summit and then met us both at Burnt Hickory Rd. I hiked solo from Burnt Hickory Rd to Cheatham Hill, where both of my parents were waiting. They helped me identify the high ground before they drove around to Kolb Farm and I continued solo to make it a full hike of the park from north to south. After the hike, we headed to Marietta for dinner. Marietta was a charming little town and has a nice downtown square worth exploring. Pics
