Ascent Trip Report

Came from the north. The roads are good and passable to any car right up to the trailhead. Camped at a grove close to there, lots of cow shit though. Hiked through the burn where new aspens are threatening to erase the trail, maybe in a couple years someone can take a loper through there once the risk of erosional damage is lessened. The views up top are great of Yuba reservoir though clouds blocked Nebo and Swasey from my eyes. The north face is impressive and even has a few bristlecone pines hanging on, though they are not nearly as ancient as some groves over in Moriah and wheeler area. There are a couple of great camping plateforms right near the peak that have been leveled out with rock retaining walls, though there isn't any water sourse up here.
