Ascent Trip Report

From point 122 on the road to the east. Battled my way through hordes of pheasants at the beginning. This is very much a shooting hill. In fact the shooters could not really miss given the numbers. I ignored the No Public Right of Way sign and went straight on passed the rearing pen on my right. Then followed the vehicle track to the left and then up. Shortly after it swung to right I cut uphill through the woodland. Soon this became a fight through shoulder high bracken to the top. Good views up to Crummock Water to the north and Derwentwater to the east. The vehicle track actually goes to the summit via a more circuitous route so I followed it down to avoid the bracken. This is private land but with express permission or on a Sunday a climb should be OK.
